About Hart Parish
Hart parish comprises Hart village and its surrounding farms, Hart Quarry, Kingfisher Road on the Bishop Cuthbert estate and Hartwell Park, Hartlepool. The map on this page demonstrates just how rural the parish is.
Hart is an historic village, probably Saxon in origin, though the area may have been inhabited even earlier. The history of Hart has been the subject of many years of research by archaeologists and villagers alike; the results of this research will be found on this web-site at a future date.
The Hart to Haswell Countryside Walkway and Mountain Bike Track cuts across the north-east corner of the parish.
Hart's population at the 2016 census was 780, spread over just under 4 square miles.
More detail about some of the key points of interest will be added shortly, but useful web-sites are below.
